    ABOUT US

Born in the Bahamas, our family moved back to Sri Lanka when I was about 4 years old. My father, who ironically had no background in tourism, started a small travel company; escorting his guests across this island in his 1978 classic VW Beetle van. His guests, mostly British and German couples, even became lifelong friends. I recall my very first trip was with Mr and Mrs Mueller from Germany, our entire family ended up accompanying them to Nilaveli in Trincomalee!

As Sri Lanka broke out into a civil war in 1983, the resulting impact on the tourism industry put my dad and many other small operators out of business. The initial love for travel my father instilled in me though, never really went away. Fast forwarding to my high school days, I, together with some friends went on to explore as much of the country as we could. Even after entering the US to pursue my higher studies, even as a broke college student, my wanderlust was insatiable. Taking multi-day road trips across State lines in a beat-up Toyota Tercel became a hobby of its own.

Pursuing a degree in Anthropology, I was afforded an opportunity to join my Professor in investigating Viking Age houses in Skagadjofdour, Northern Iceland. For two years in the summer months, every minute I had free was dedicated to trekking Iceland. After Iceland, I found myself now in Mahasthangarh, Bangladesh, excavating a Buddhist structure, one of the earliest urban sites dating back to the 3rd century. Nearly a decade away from home, I finally gave into my homesickness and traded a career in archaeology for a desk job in the logistics sector. But fate had other plans. I soon found myself setting up a representative office in Moscow, Russia and living there for the next two years. After that, travelling the world for logistics management became the norm as I found myself a regular visitor on extended stays to 19 countries, over a 20-year period.

My final corporate job was as the CEO of Taru Villas, a boutique hotel chain with 14 properties at the time. This experience further informed me on the nuances of luxury travel with a special focus on discerning couples in the luxury space.

Today, I am an investor, entrepreneur and consultant. I tell you my story as I see travel not a product to be sold, but an essential life experience that informs, transforms and transcends. I want people to experience Sri Lanka the way I have experienced the world, wearing many hats. I want people to feel. In a day and age where every other TikTok video is about how little you need to spend in Sri Lanka, I decided to do the opposite and curate the best of what Sri Lanka has to offer. Why honeymoons? Honeymoon travel has always been a resilient sector. It might be postponed, but rarely cancelled. With honeymoon interest in Sri Lanka growing by 170% year on year, my team and I have built a platform and introduced a service aimed to offer the best of Sri Lanka.
